2011 CIAS

Just like every year, the 2011 Canadian International Auto show was a hit. Tons of the hottest, newest cars on the market and retro classics that shall never be forgotten.
Heres some highlights!

Started the day out with some fabulous red exotics, a new V10 R8, a stunning Corvette ZR1, a Gallardo (which shares it's engines with the R8) and an unreal 911 Turbo!

We then moved to the main showroom to see some new cars for 2011!

The new 2011 Range Rover Evoque will come in both 4 door and 2 door varieties

Mercedes CLS63 looked stunning (and expensive) in this matte grey paint

Pretty nice custom Honda CRZ hybrid. Slap a K20 in this and it'll be a huge seller!

Cadillac CTS-V Coupe, super nice but I prefer the wagon

Jaguar XKR, is this one of the last XK's we'll see before they're replaced?

Mustang Boss 302, I bet it sounds so good!

Rolly Royce ghost, smaller brother of the Phantom

A Countach (Periscopio?)

Murcielago LP640 Roadster, one of my favs! Looks especially nice in this colour

Maybach 57S, little brother to the 62 but big brother to the 57

Ferrari of Ontario put on a great display, bringing iconic cars like the F40 and Daytona was awesome to see

SLS AMG

LFA, what a terrific sounding car!

SPECIAL FEATURE - Ferrari vs. Lamborghini!

Since the beginning, these two manufacturers have been compared and related to each other, only increasing the rivalry. There are many reasons why they both are as popular and famous as they are, so lets go through them.

LAMBORGHINI

Pros

  • Amazingly fast. Lamborghini's can have anywhere from 560 hp to 700 hp, MUCH more then Ferrari

  •  They have the best detailed interiors, where the exterior of your car can color coordinate with the interior, resulting in perfection!

  • All of their models have that distinctive shape that people love so much, that they haven't bothered to change it

  • The sound. If you have never heard a "Lambo" rev its engine, heres your chance :]

Cons
  • The only con i can think about is the price. Ferrari's tend to cost a bit cheaper, reason being that the Lamborghini has a lot more options, some being upwards of $10,000!!! The most expensive option is actually matte finished paint, that runs at a whopping $28,000 USD!

FERRARI

Pros
  • Everybody loves them. Jeremy Clarkson even said "I’d like to consider Ferrari as a scaled down version of God."

  • The racing pedigree. Ferrari is by far one of the best, and most successful racing teams ever. In 1996, they also acquired the 27 year old Michael Schumacher. Schumacher went on to become the greatest Formula One driver of all time and he also put Ferrari back up on the board.

  • Parts are everywhere for Ferrari's these days, so you can make you normal Ferrari, looking like a totally new one! These parts dont come cheap at all, but you'll tun more heads then a basic car.

Cons
  • Ferrari's are EVERYWHERE. They are tons more common than Lamborghini's. Almost everyone who has enough money to buy a supercar, buys a Ferrari. Why? They want to be able to say "I own a Ferrari".

SPECIAL FEATURE - 1966 Shelby Cobra

If your a car guy (or girl), you have to have to have a special place in your heart for a Shelby Cobra.

It is by far, the most recreated car ever, beating the Shelby GT500E (Eleanor) by a mile!

Brief history lesson!

Carroll Hall Shelby was born in Leesburg, Texas on January 11, 1923. He didn't have that great of a childhood, as he had heart problems when he was 7. After finishing high school, Carroll enrolled for the US Army Air Corps, and served in WWII as a flight instructor and test pilot. He was always into cars, and by the age of 33, he was a Hillclimb champion! He even won the 1959 hours of Le Mans in an Aston Martin!

Carroll haad always wanted to make fast cars, and in February 1962, his dreams came true, when he made the first ever Cobra. Over the years, real Cobra`s have only been going up in prices and on January 21, 2007, Carroll Shelby`s personally modified Cobra (aka Godzilla) sold for a record $5.5 MILLION!!!

2011 is the 50th anniversary of the cobra and as a result, Shelby has created 50 special edition cars for the public!

Do you want one?

Well you can't!

All 50 were sold out in 48 hours!

2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 spotted!

The 2012 Aventador is finally shown (under camo that is)

The front looks like a mix between a Lamborghini Gallardo Lp560-4 and a Murcielago LP670-4 Superveloce, while the back looks like it just came off of a Reventon!

This car is going to be replacing the ever-loved Murcielago, ending it's 4099 car run.
