If your a car guy (or girl), you have to have to have a special place in your heart for a Shelby Cobra.
It is by far, the most recreated car ever, beating the Shelby GT500E (Eleanor) by a mile!
Brief history lesson!
Carroll Hall Shelby was born in Leesburg, Texas on January 11, 1923. He didn't have that great of a childhood, as he had heart problems when he was 7. After finishing high school, Carroll enrolled for the US Army Air Corps, and served in WWII as a flight instructor and test pilot. He was always into cars, and by the age of 33, he was a Hillclimb champion! He even won the 1959 hours of Le Mans in an Aston Martin!
Carroll haad always wanted to make fast cars, and in February 1962, his dreams came true, when he made the first ever Cobra. Over the years, real Cobra`s have only been going up in prices and on January 21, 2007, Carroll Shelby`s personally modified Cobra (aka Godzilla) sold for a record $5.5 MILLION!!!
2011 is the 50th anniversary of the cobra and as a result, Shelby has created 50 special edition cars for the public!
Do you want one?
Well you can't!
All 50 were sold out in 48 hours!
